Join Reverend Nafisa Sharriff for FREE traditional West African dance Classes in Marcus Garvey Park (123rd Street and Madison Avenue on the lawn) this Summer as part of Harlem Grown’s Culture, Creativity & Care Initiative, sponsored by The Mellon Foundation.

Come dance the folklore of the Old Malian Empire to LIVE drums and celebrate the richness of our culture and community every Sunday beginning July 9th and continuing through Sunday, August 20th! All classes are FREE and open to the entire community!

No registration necessary. Simply show up and plan to have a good time. All Are Welcome!

DANCE CLASS SCHEDULE
JULY:  9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th
AUGUST:  6th, 13th, 20th

Important Class Information
Class Time: 1pm – 3pm/EST
Class is outdoors on the grass: Bring a blanket/mat to sit on.
Bring lots of water to stay hydrated.
Must sign a Release Form for use of pictures & video.
Class is canceled if it rains. There is no rain date.
